Running a RIDDOR Assessment

Accident Book includes a guided assessment to help determine if an incident is RIDDOR-reportable.

When to Run an Assessment

Consider running an assessment when:

• Someone is injured seriously
• An employee can't work for several days
• There's a dangerous near-miss
• You're unsure if something is reportable

Running the Assessment

1. Open the incident
2. Click RIDDOR Assessment
3. Answer the guided questions about the incident
4. Review the recommendation
5. The system will indicate if reporting is likely required

Assessment Outcome

The assessment provides:

• Clear recommendation (reportable/not reportable/further review needed)
• Rationale for the decision
• Next steps to take
• Automatic deadline tracking if reportable
