Configuring Email Notifications

Control which email notifications you receive from Accident Book.

    Accessing Notification Settings

    1. Go to Settings
    2. Select Notifications

    Available Notifications

    • Email Notifications - Turns all email notifications on or off
    • New Incident Alerts - An email when a new incident is reported at your sites
    • RIDDOR Alerts - An email when an incident is assessed as likely to be RIDDOR reportable, or needs watching. RIDDOR alerts are sent even during quiet hours.
    • Weekly Reports - A summary every Monday at 8am: new incidents, near misses and serious incidents in the last 7 days, plus anything waiting for review or open on the RIDDOR queue

    Escalation

If an incident is still waiting for review after your Escalation Time (24 hours by default), you get one reminder email listing it. Admins are reminded about every site; site managers about their own sites.

    Quiet Hours

Turn on quiet hours to stop alert emails outside working hours:

    1. Toggle on Enable Quiet Hours
    2. Set your start and end times

New incident alerts that would arrive during your quiet hours are not sent, and they are not sent later either. Incidents reported during quiet hours still appear in your dashboard, marked as needing review, and escalation reminders wait until your quiet hours end.

    Site manager emails

Each site can have a manager email address. If that address belongs to someone in your team, their own notification settings apply. If it doesn’t, that address gets every new incident alert for the site.
